The Nuori Kulttuuri Festival 2025
The Nuori Kulttuuri Festival is a multi-site youth art festival between April 17th and May 30th, 2026.
This is a festival dedicated to young people’s own culture! The festival offers a unique opportunity for young people to be at the heart of the action and share their dreams, skills and creativity. The festival spring consists of a diverse range of youth art forms and youth cultures, all combined into an unforgettable experience. More than 50 content producers deliver engaging content to cities.
The festival highlights the role of young people in culture and their ability to create communities where everyone can experience and learn from each other. This is an event where young people can express themselves and develop their cultural skills in an interactive environment where belonging and inclusion are at the heart of the experience. We believe that culture and creativity can unite and empower young people – this festival is a great opportunity to experience it for yourself!
A celebration of youth creativity across Finland
The Nuori Kulttuuri Festival 2026 is Finland’s national arts event for young people. It offers a stage and a voice to young artists and creators across the country. Throughout the spring, the festival travels to five cities, bringing together performances, exhibitions and experiences that showcase youth art in all its diversity and energy.
Festival cities in spring 2026:
Vaasa – April 17–18
Sodankylä – May 9
Savonlinna – May 23
Vantaa – May 23
Lahti – May 30
Art in every form
At each stop, the festival highlights creativity in many forms: music, theatre, dance, circus, visual arts, film, media art, and cross-disciplinary works that mix new art forms. Each city creates its own unique programme in collaboration with local young people and art organisations.
Made by young people – for young people
In many festival cities, young people plan and produce the events themselves. They take on roles as producers, performers and creators – gaining valuable experience in artmaking, production and teamwork.
“We want young people to influence the kinds of cultural events made for them. This generation creates new culture boldly and on their own terms,”
says Johanna Hurme, Cultural Youth Work Coordinator.
A festival year to remember
The 2026 festival year marks the culmination of a six-year development period and the final year of the current Nuori Kulttuuri strategy. The goal is to strengthen young people’s participation in arts and culture and to embed the best practices into Finland’s national youth culture field.
